Job description

Company Overview

SensorLink Corporation has engineered and manufactured live-line meters and recorders for high voltage applications for more than 35 years, committed to innovation and excellence in engineering. Located in Ferndale, Washington, our team is dedicated to designing and manufacturing high quality, easy to use instruments that provide utility personnel the confidence to work safely, while making decisions in the field.

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Test Systems Engineer with strong expertise in C# software development to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated test systems that ensure the quality, reliability, and manufacturability of our products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including design engineering, manufacturing, and quality—to deliver robust test solutions that scale efficiently across production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Develop Test Software

  • Create scalable, maintainable, and high-performance test applications using C#/.NET.
  • Integrate test software with hardware instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, RF analyzers).
  • Integrate test software with Azure AI Vison services.
  • Develop user interfaces, test sequences, and automation frameworks.
  • Define technical standards, coding practices, and best-in-class approaches for test software development.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for complex test system issues.
  • Participate in Agile development processes to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Test System Development & Maintenance

  • Design and implement automated test systems for manufacturing.
  • Design and implement test plans for systems and components.
  • Conduct thorough testing to identify system defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Document testing processes and results for future reference.
  • Support existing test systems by troubleshooting software/hardware issues and deploying updates.
  • Ensure systems comply with industry standards, product test & calibration requirements, and internal best practices.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with product design teams to define test requirements early in the development cycle.
  • Provide technical support and training for manufacturing and operations teams.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation strategies, and standardization efforts.

Data & Reporting

  • Implement logging, data collection, and reporting features to enable traceability and yield analysis.
  • Work with manufacturing/quality teams to monitor test performance and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field is required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in C#/.NET software development (Windows desktop applications, multithreading, UI frameworks such as WPF/WinForms).
  • Experience with automated product test frameworks, instrumentation control (e.g., VISA, GPIB, USB, Ethernet), and hardware interfaces.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing test strategies (functional test, calibration, end-of-line verification, etc.)
  • Strong background in database design (SQL, data warehousing, reporting/BI integration).
  • Experience with version control (Git, Azure DevOps), CI/CD, and software lifecycle management.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-driven with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with manufacturing test systems in electronics, medical devices, automotive, or aerospace industries.
  • Knowledge of DFT/DFM (Design for Test/Manufacture) principles.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (GPIB, USB, Ethernet/IP, etc).
