Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) supporting largescale Operations Management Systems (OMS) and other mission-critical enterprise applications. This role plays a key part in leading system implementations, supporting production environments, and ensuring system availability, security, and regulatory compliance.The ideal candidate brings deep experience across the full application lifecycle, thrives in regulated environments, and partners effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver reliable, high-impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a technical SME for major system initiatives supporting Operations Management Systems
Lead and contribute to enterprise system development and vendor-led implementations from initiation through post-implementation support
Enforce and follow change management processes to maintain system availability and reliability
Participate in all phases of the application lifecycle, including:
Planning, requirements gathering, and business analysis
System design and architecture
Development, testing, and quality assurance
Training, implementation, and ongoing technical support
Provide day to day production support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system maintenance
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure on-time, high-quality solution delivery
Apply and promote cybersecurity best practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as NERC CIP and FERC Standards of Conduct
Participate in an on-call rotation to support off-hours system issues as needed
Required Skills/Education
Extensive experience in enterprise software development and production support
Proven experience leading or supporting large-scale system implementations, including vendor-managed solutions
Strong knowledge of change management processes in mission-critical environments
Experience working in regulated industries with strict compliance and audit requirements
Demonstrated ability to support high-availability production systems
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Operations Management Systems (OMS) or similar enterprise platforms
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and policies
Working knowledge of NERC CIP, FERC, or similar regulatory standards
