Summary/Objective: A Senior IT Engineer or ITSC Technician III is an advanced-level IT professional who represents a senior role with the ITSC. This is characterized by a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving capabilities and often leadership responsibilities. An ITSC Technician III is not just a resolver of problems but also a pivotal figure in the strategic direction of IT support, focusing on efficiency, security and innovation within the support structure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Complex Problem Resolution: Address the most challenging technical issues, which might involve intricate network issues, server problems, or complex software integration. This role often requires diving deep into system configurations or customer solutions.

Leadership and Mentoring: Lead, mentor and train junior technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Project Management: Take on significant IT projects, possibly leading or coordinating efforts for system upgrades, migrations, or the implementation of new technologies. This includes project planning, execution and post-implementation review.

Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, revise, and implement IT policies, procedures and best practices to enhance service delivery and security measures.

Strategic Input: Provide strategic input into IT infrastructure decisions, contributing long-term planning and technology roadmaps.

Incident and Problem Management: Manage the lifecycle of major incidents, from initial response through to resolution, including root cause analysts to prevent future occurrences.

Security Oversight: Take a more active role in IT security, ensuring compliance with security policies, managing the response to security incidents and possibly contributing to security audits.

Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors for support, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and managing the procurement of hardware/software solutions.

Documentation and Knowledge Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, including creating standards for documentation practices.

User Education: Conduct or oversee training sessions for users on new systems or technologies, emphasizing best practices for usage and security.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must have 3-5 experience in the following:

Microsoft Intune, including device compliance, app protection policies, and Autopilot.

Microsoft 365 administration and associated security controls (e.g., Azure AD, Conditional Access).

System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for software deployment, patch management, and endpoint imaging.
Preferred Experience:

Experience managing a Citrix virtual desktop environment and applications in virtualized settings.

Strong understanding of server management, including Windows Server administration and virtualization technologies.

Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks and enhance system administration processes.

Experience managing environments for 3,000+ users and 100+ servers.

Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate are a plus.
Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+, Project+, ITIL or vendor-specific certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
