Full Stack Engineer
Masterpiece Flower Company LLC
Full-time
Byron Center, MI
Job description
About Us
We’re a locally rooted, family-owned agricultural business that grows and distributes live plants and cut flowers to nearly 400 retail stores across 8 states. From planting to delivery logistics, our business depends on a custom-built suite of software that supports everything from inventory tracking and production planning through B2B wholesale and D2C online retail order processing, shipping logistics, and merchandising.
For the last 25 years, this software has been built and maintained mainly by one engineer at a time. But the systems — and the business — have grown. We’re now looking for a second developer to join us and start building a team to carry our technology forward.
The Role
As our new Software Engineer, you'll collaborate directly with the Principal Engineer and stakeholders across the company to maintain, modernize, and expand the tools that keep our operation running smoothly. You’ll have your hands in many systems and responsibilities, including:
- Maintaining and enhancing in-house applications built in TypeScript, C#, and React Native
- Building new features and tools for internal users — from web-based dashboards to command-line utilities
- Troubleshooting issues and deploying fixes to keep things moving during our busy production seasons
- Collaborating with different departments and end users to assess and support evolving business needs
- Contributing to the design and architecture of long-term system improvements
- Working with small external contractor teams on larger projects, as needed
Technology Stack
- Languages: TypeScript, C#
- Frameworks: Node.js, ASP.NET, React Native
- Interfaces: Web UIs, CLI tools, iOS mobile app
- Other: SQL, Git, GQL and REST APIs, Docker, modern build tools
Who We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience
- Comfortable working across the stack — front-end, back-end, and everything in between
- Able to quickly understand and work with an existing codebase, but prepared to break ground on greenfield projects
- Resourceful, self-motivated, and ready to take ownership of problems
- Willing to work on-site in Byron Center, MI
- Bonus points for familiarity with live-goods, logistics, wholesale distribution, or seasonal production cycles — but not required
Why Join Us
- A unique chance to make a real, day-to-day impact in a stable, growing business
- Variety: You'll work on a wide range of tools and systems — no narrow silos here
- Close collaboration with a fellow engineer who will share your excitement about software craftsmanship and innovation in pursuit of business and technology goals
- Competitive compensation, including excellent health insurance
- A grounded, mission-driven workplace where your work directly supports the success of people, plants, and partners
How to Apply
Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter telling us why you’re interested in this role and how your experience aligns with what we’ve described.
We look forward to hearing from you!
