Matador Transit is Hiring Immediately for Part-Time and Full-Time Delivery Drivers! Drivers will dispatch out of the terminal located at 481 Gregg Dr, Buena Vista, Colorado 81211 and deliver in sprinter vans provided by the employer.
Starting Pay: $22-25 DOE

Matador Transit Inc. is the contracted service provider to FedEx covering Chaffee, Fremont, Lake and Park Counties in Central Colorado. FedEx delivery drivers employed by Matador Transit are responsible for delivering and picking up packages in a timely, safe, and professional manner. The position requires solid driving skills, excellent customer service, and a commitment to maintaining the high standards of FedEx.
Key Responsibilities:
- Package Delivery and Pickup:
- Safely operate a FedEx branded delivery vehicle to deliver packages to both residential and business addresses
- Pick up packages from customers or designated locations
- Follow the planned delivery route and schedule, but adapt to changes (road conditions and construction, adverse weather, or customer requests) in real time
- Comply with all traffic laws and company safety regulations
- Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with customers during deliveries and pickups
- Handle customer questions or concerns professionally
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while representing Matador Transit and FedEx
- Package Handling:
- Ensure that all packages are handled with care
- Load and unload packages of varying sizes and weights
- Ensure that packages are delivered to the correct address and obtain signatures when required
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to pass both pre-hire and random commercial-driver drug tests
- Permanent housing within 45 minutes of Buena Vista, Colorado
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Friendly communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-pace, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to drive in varying weather conditions
- Previous experience in delivery, customer service, or a similar role is a plus
- Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination
- Ability to exit and re-enter the vehicle at least 75 times per day
- Ability to carry and deliver more than 75 packages per day across varied ground surfaces at Central Colorado’s higher elevations
- Ability to lift 75 lbs without assistance and to move up to 150lbs using a dolly
- Regular use of hands for grasping and manipulating packages
Past experience driving for FedEx, UPS, Amazon, Walmart, or any other similar companies is a plus!! We have both full-time and part-time positions available for you as we are hiring immediately. Military encouraged, no high school diploma required.
