We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level AWS Cloud Engineer to join our support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting cloud-based infrastructure and applications running on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a 24/7 operational environment.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of production systems while continuously improving operational processes and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production support for AWS-hosted applications and infrastructure.
- Monitor and respond to alerts, incidents, and service outages using tools such as CloudWatch, Dashboard Monitoring, PagerDuty, or similar.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to EC2, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, ALB/NLB, VPC, WAF, and IAM.
- Perform routine health checks, patching, backups, and deployment verifications.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incident management and escalation.
- Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to deploy, test, and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Document processes, runbooks, and root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call/shift rotation, ensuring timely response to production issues.
- Suggest and implement improvements to enhance reliability, monitoring, and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–4 years of hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services.
- Strong understanding of networking, VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, and security groups.
- Experience with Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation and monitoring.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps concepts, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience using ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and incident management tools.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in 24/7 shift rotations.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
- Exposure to WAF, CloudFront, RDS, EKS and API Gateway for web application support.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or ELK stack.
- Knowledge of security best practices in AWS cloud environments.
