McNICHOLS is seeking a Dev/Ops Engineer to join our growing IT team. This position will be primarily responsible for Linux/Unix environments and the administration of enterprise applications to support TIBCO and Oracle applications (JDE, ATG) among others.
This position is onsite at our corporate headquarters for a hybrid work schedule with an office overlooking the waters of Tampa Bay.
Responsibilities
- Help automate server maintenance, including running scripts and automated processes
- Proactively maintain and develop all infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
- Help troubleshoot problems, fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
- Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs
- Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
- Hands-on expertise in Install, configure and upgrade TIBCO BW (5.x and 6.x), EMS, RV, Admin, and Hawk
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and scripting (Bash, Shell, Python).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Maven)
- Experience with job scheduling tools like Cron
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Hawk, Elasticsearch).
- Experience in cloud with AWS or Azure experience (EC2, CloudWatch, S3).
- Good Understanding of Load Balancers with Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
- Knowledge of Web Servers (Apache) , Java Application Servers(WebLogic, Tomcat)
- Good Understanding of Database technologies (Oracle preferred)
- Knowledge in Vertex, JDE and ATG, F5 LoadBalancer is a plus
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Linux administration
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
