NNE is seeking an IT Operations Manager for its Charleston, WV office. This position is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of information technology infrastructure and responsible for ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems, support business objectives, and operations, and manage internal and external teams / service providers to deliver robust IT services. The selected candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, capable of developing and enforcing policies, managing complex projects, and responding swiftly to system incidents. In addition to technical expertise, the role demands excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. This position requires the candidate to work on-site and not remotely.

Position Responsibilities:

  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the functioning and maintenance of servers, networks, databases, cloud services, and enterprise applications. Ensure that all systems operate efficiently and securely, supporting business continuity.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Will work with the NNE Management and manage relationships with outsourced IT vendors. Foster a collaborative culture, set clear objectives, and support staff training and development.
  • Incident and Problem Management: Lead response to system incidents, outages, and service requests. Coordinate resolution efforts, document issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline IT processes, automate routine tasks, and optimize resource usage. Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation.
  • Service Delivery and Support: Ensure timely delivery of IT services to business units and end-users. Oversee helpdesk operations and ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and consultants. Oversee procurement of hardware, software, and services, negotiate contracts, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Security and Compliance: Develop and implement security best practices, monitor system vulnerabilities, apply patches, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Change and Release Management: Oversee change management processes, coordinate system upgrades, deployments, and migrations. Ensure changes are properly tested, documented, and communicated.
  • Capacity Planning and Budgeting: Analyze usage trends and forecast future infrastructure needs. Prepare and manage IT operating budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Ensure data backup procedures are reliable and recovery strategies are effective.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Develop and report on KPIs related to system performance, uptime, support tickets, and project delivery. Provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with other departments, project managers, and department leaders to align IT operations with organizational goals and to support new initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required. A master’s degree and professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CISSP) are preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years in IT operations, network, or systems administration, with at least 3 years in supervisory or managerial capacity is required.
  • Strong understanding of server and network architectures, virtualization, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), storage solutions, database management, and enterprise software. Fluency in managing VoIP, video conferencing, and unified communications platforms.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks, incident and problem management, change control, and service delivery models. Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, risk management, regulatory compliance, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience planning and executing infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations. Ability to manage timelines, resources, and budgets. Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting complex issues, making data-driven decisions, and identifying process improvements.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, build consensus, and work cross-functionally. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Capacity to align IT operations with long-term business objectives and anticipate future technological needs.
