    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Database Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Microsoft SQL Server environment. This role will work closely with the Business Intelligence Officer and be a key part in designing and building database objects—including tables, views, and stored procedures— using advanced T-SQL that supports key business strategies and reporting objectives. The DBA will work collaboratively with the BI Team to support application development, data integrity, and ensure database best practices are followed.

    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Achieve Results DBA Responsibilities include:

    1. Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and databases across development, testing, and production environments.

    2. Monitor system performance, implement database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies using native SQL tools and third-party solutions.

    3. Design and implement database objects including Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, etc.

    4. Manage and audit security roles, user access, and data protection in line with organizational and regulatory compliance standards.

    5. Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure proper schema design, indexing strategies, and stored procedure optimization.

    6. Document procedures, architecture, and standards to support maintainability and knowledge transfer.

    7. Conduct root cause analysis of database-related incidents and recommend preventive actions.

    8. Other projects as directed by Business Intelligence Officer

    Operational Excellence

    1. Ensure and uphold the confidentiality requirements of all patient records and manage daily tasks and activities consistent with HIPAA, state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the clinic’s policies and regulations regarding confidentiality and security.

    2. Assure that all payments issued are appropriate and documented as ordered and received.

    1. Develop and ensure effective, positive relationships between and among the administrative and clinic staff, as well as with patients, vendors, contractors, and related resources.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
    • Must be able to speak read, write, and understand English.

    Professional

    5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in mid to large enterprise environments.

    • Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, SSMS, SSIS, and performance tuning tools.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL Server Agent jobs, linked servers, and replication.
    • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Redgate, SolarWinds DPA, SentryOne, or custom-built solutions).
    • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and task scheduling.
    • Exposure to data governance and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HRSA).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with cloud-based SQL Server deployments (Azure SQL Database)
    • Experience with AI models (CoPilot, ChatGPT) and machine learning techniques.
    • Familiarity with Power Platform including Power Apps and Power Automate.
    • Microsoft certified in SQL Server, Data Management, Azure, or similar. Physical/Environmental
    • Ability to interact with computer screen for up to six hours at a time (visual acuity required).
    • Must have manual dexterity for use of keyboard.
    • Ability to remain stationary for periods of up to four hours.
    • Ability to communicate via phone, mail and in person to resolve disputes, solve problems, etc.
    • Capacity to function in a sometimes stressful, multi-tasking environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in mid to large enterprise environments.

  • Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, SSMS, SSIS, and performance tuning tools.
