Job description

We are seeking a Solution & Security Architect to define, design, and govern technology solutions that enable our organization to operate securely, efficiently, and at scale. This role ensures that applications and infrastructure components adhere to enterprise architecture principles, comply with regulatory and security standards, and support business objectives.

The Solution & Security Architect provides leadership across the full lifecycle of technology initiatives, translating business requirements into scalable, resilient technical solutions while embedding cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance into all designs and deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Technology Governance

  • Translate business requirements into enterprise-level architecture designs using modern, secure, and scalable technologies.
  • Develop high-level and detailed architecture designs, including network topology, virtual machines, cloud workloads, data flows, integrations, and security configurations.
  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures, and design patterns.
  • Provide technical requirements to development and infrastructure teams for testing and deployment.
  • Review and validate designs and implementations to ensure alignment with architecture standards.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps and evaluate emerging technologies.

Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure designs align with Zero Trust principles, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, PCI DSS).
  • Conduct security architecture reviews to identify gaps and risks.
  • Partner with Cyber Security teams to define mitigation strategies and remediation plans.
  • Oversee vulnerability management, including reviewing scan results, supporting remediation planning, and communicating security posture.
  • Ensure compliance across infrastructure and application components.

Configuration, Operations & Resilience

  • Maintain accurate records of all application and infrastructure components in the CMDB.
  • Establish secure configuration management practices.
  • Define architecture requirements for disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience.
  • Provide oversight for third-party vendors to ensure compliance with security and enterprise standards.
  • Validate that production deployments conform to approved architecture and security requirements.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with IT, business teams, and external partners to ensure alignment across architecture, security, and delivery.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused communication for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on architecture, security, and technology risk.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in technology roles, including architecture, infrastructure, and security.
  • 3-5 years in an Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, or Security Architect role within a large-scale, complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid architectures (on-premises, cloud, edge environments).
  • Expertise in enterprise and solution architecture, network topology, virtualized environments, cloud workloads, application integrations, and secure connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of Zero Trust principles, defense-in-depth strategies, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Experience conducting security architecture reviews, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence technical decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working hybrid.
  • Comfortable in a temporary role.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in regulated industries such as gaming, hospitality, maritime, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with highly distributed or shipboard operational environments.
  • Architecture or security certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP, CISM, Cloud Architect certifications).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $58.00/hour, paid weekly on Fridays.
