Job Title: UX Designer

Location: Within 100 miles of KC

Duration: 12-month contract

Job Description:

ECCO Select is seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer to join our high-performance delivery team supporting Walsworth Publishing Company—one of the nation’s largest and most storied yearbook publishers. You will play a key role in helping shape the future of Walsworth’s cloud-based design and e-commerce applications used by students, educators, and internal teams.

As part of ECCO Select’s delivery model, this UX Designer will contribute to a cross-functional agile team to build intuitive, user-centered design systems. The focus will be on crafting modern, scalable user experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile environments.

What You’ll Do:

• Design the user experience and interaction flow of new cloud-based applications and internal tools.
• Rapidly prototype using Figma and translate concepts into clean, developer-ready design artifacts.
• Produce wireframes, process flows, interactive mockups, and design documentation to communicate UX solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Create and maintain design systems and style guides.
• Conduct user testing and contribute to usability research efforts.
• Present your work to cross-functional teams and incorporate feedback to refine designs.

What We’re Looking For:

• 1–3 years of UX design experience (or equivalent project/portfolio experience).
• Strong understanding of modern UX/UI principles, especially for SaaS and mobile-first design.
• Proficiency with Figma and familiarity with the Atlassian suite (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Ability to balance aesthetics with usability, delivering simple and elegant design solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-driven with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. work authorization (ECCO Select does not currently sponsor employment visas).
• Link to a digital portfolio or recent work samples (must be included on resume or application).
• Willingness to commute to the Overland Park, KS office as part of a hybrid team model.
• Willingness to complete a pre-employment screening as required by the engagement.

Nice to Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Experience working with education, publishing, or e-commerce systems.
