Job description
Required Experience & Skills
5+ years UX design of web-based applications
4+ years designing compliant webpages per accessibility standards WCAG 2.1 Level AA or higher
5+ years creating wireframes, prototypes, and mockups
3+ years information architecture and design
2+ years user experience design in Agile development environment
Mac laptop proficiency (required for prototyping tools)
Figma experience
Desired Skills
Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or Graphic Design
Accessibility and inclusive design best practices
User research and persona development
Usability testing and analysis
Mobile app UI/UX for ticketing or payment systems
Familiarity with transit fare structures
Front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Blazor)
UX certifications in accessibility standards and Agile methodologies
Key Responsibilities
Lead user research (8-10 interviews per 2-week sprint)
Conduct usability testing (2-3 sessions per sprint)
Design 20+ interface screens per module (WCAG 2.1 AA compliant)
Develop wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes
Collaborate with product owners and developers in Agile sprints
Present bi-weekly design reviews to 10+ stakeholders
Provide knowledge transfer to internal developers
Ensure accessibility compliance and inclusive design principles
Technical Environment
Figma (prototyping)
Microsoft 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC)
SharePoint, Teams integration
Azure Active Directory
Transit fare collection systems
Project Details
Large-scale fare collection system upgrade
High-profile initiative supporting transit operations
Public-facing websites + robust back-office functionality
Tight timelines, Agile delivery (2-week sprints)
Potential extension beyond 6 months
