Job Title: Data Scientist II (Associate)

Duration: 1 Year Contract

Location: West Point PA 19486

This is not a typical IT work

Someone who can work with scientists to understand the data generated from experiments and help automate the electronic notebook

Someone who has expertise generating scientific data, can be analytical, genomics

Job description:

We are seeking Data Scientist II (Associates) . You will help design and implement data workflows that enable scientists to generate, analyze, and automate experimental data in support of drug discovery and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain data workflows/pipelines in Python
• Partner with scientists to automate data capture and processing from experiments
• Collaborate with IT and SMEs to deliver robust solutions
• Support project planning, standups, and reporting to stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science or related field; OR Chemistry with strong programming skills
• 4–6 years of relevant experience
• Strong skills in:
• Python 3.9+ (pandas, boto3, pyodbc, openpyxl, conda envs)
• AWS services (Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, ECR)
• Databases & SQL, data modeling
• ETL processes / pipelines
• Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions (CI/CD)
• File formats: XLSX, JSON, YAML, CSV
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

• AWS (SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway)
• Data pipeline tools (Dataiku, Trifacta)
• Experience in pharma/biotech or genomics data

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour
