Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage and maintain our database systems, ensuring their high availability and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, administration, and optimisation across various platforms including MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Duties

• Administer and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and high availability.
• Design and implement database structures that support business requirements.
• Perform regular database backups, restores, and recovery operations.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimisation of SQL queries.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Write and optimise PL/SQL scripts for data manipulation and reporting.
• Utilise Bash (Unix shell) for shell scripting tasks related to database management.
• Monitor database health and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with development teams to support application needs related to databases.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in database administration with MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of high availability solutions for databases.
• Proficiency in SSIS for data integration tasks.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with shell scripting (Bash) for automation of routine tasks.
• Excellent skills in performance tuning of databases and SQL queries.
• Understanding of database design principles and best practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $107,602.43 - $129,585.73 per year
