We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Specialist to support and maintain our Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliant infrastructure and support CMMC assessments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring our technical environment meets the stringent requirements of CMMC, while providing assistance for CMMC assessments of client environments. While this is a remote based position, travel may be required to company or clients sites. U.S. citizenship preferred.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical Infrastructure Maintenance: Support and maintain the organization’s CMMC infrastructure. This includes ensuring the systems are operational, secure, and efficient.
- Virtual Machines (VMs) Setup: Deploy and manage virtual machines across various environments, ensuring they meet the organization's performance and security standards.
- Secure Baseline Configurations: Implement and enforce secure baseline configurations for all systems to comply with CMMC requirements. Continuously monitor and update configurations to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Monthly Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patch management, system updates, backups, and monitoring. Ensure all maintenance activities are documented and align with compliance requirements.
- CMMC Assessments Support: Support CMMC assessments. This includes serving as an assessment team member under the guidance and supervision of the lead assessor.
- Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities to quickly identify, isolate, and mitigate security incidents. Coordinate with the security team to improve response strategies and reduce system vulnerabilities.
- Cloud Services: Manage and support cloud-based services and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with CMMC and other regulatory standards. Leverage cloud solutions to enhance the scalability and security of the organization’s systems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and processes. Generate reports as needed for compliance, performance monitoring, and management review.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the organization’s objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in system administration, network administration, cybersecurity or a related field.
- Certifications:
- Cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) preferred.
- CMMC Cybersecurity Professional (CCP) certification required.
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification preferred.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Extensive experience with virtual machines and hypervisor technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of secure configuration practices and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficient in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.).
- Security and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, particularly related to CMMC compliance. Experience in supporting compliance assessments and audits.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly document and convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across various departments.
