Oracle DBA – GoldenGate Focus (Contract)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Oracle DBA with deep Oracle GoldenGate expertise to support mission-critical enterprise data replication and high-availability environments. This contract role focuses on GoldenGate engineering, real-time data movement, and hybrid cloud integration, including data delivery to Google Cloud Storage (GCS) and BigQuery.

This position supports large-scale production systems and participates in a scheduled on-call rotation for 24×7 operational coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead deployment, administration, tuning, and troubleshooting of Oracle GoldenGate (19.x / 21.x) in enterprise production environments
• Configure and support Extract, Pump, and Replicat processes for uni-directional and bi-directional replication
• Design and maintain full-load + CDC pipelines from Oracle to GCS and BigQuery
• Implement file-based ingestion (Avro, Parquet, JSON) and support MERGE operations in BigQuery
• Support Zero-Downtime Migration (ZDM) strategies and GoldenGate high-availability architectures
• Administer Oracle databases (11gR2, 12c, 19c), including:
• Grid Infrastructure
• RAC
• ASM / ACFS
• Performance tuning and production support
• Support ZDLRA (Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance), RMAN, and incremental-forever backup strategies
• Analyze performance issues using AWR, ASH, ADDM, trace files, logs, heap/GC analysis
• Troubleshoot replication across Oracle and MS SQL Server
• Support DR planning and testing across on-prem, OCI, and hybrid environments
• Develop operational dashboards, capacity planning metrics, and trend reporting
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, cloud, and development teams
• Participate in on-call production support rotation (evenings/weekends)

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years Oracle DBA experience in enterprise production environments
• 3+ years hands-on Oracle GoldenGate (19.x or 21.x)
• Strong expertise in CDC-based replication and high-availability architectures
• Experience delivering GoldenGate data into GCS and BigQuery
• Experience with ZDLRA, RMAN, and enterprise-grade recovery operations
• Strong SQL/PLSQL and Linux/UNIX administration skills
• Experience troubleshooting large-scale distributed replication environments
• Strong documentation and incident-response capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OCI GoldenGate or managed cloud replication services
• Knowledge of hybrid data architectures (On-Prem, OCI, GCP)
• Experience contributing to architectural design discussions

Pay: From $85.00 per hour
