Position Title: Cloud Systems Administrator

Time Requirement: 40 hours per week (flexible as operational needs require)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, hours vary as necessary to support system operations

Reports to: vCIO

Supervises: N/A

General Functions:

The Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and security of the agency’s cloud-based systems and services. This position ensures reliable, secure, and efficient operation of cloud infrastructure. The role works collaboratively with the Systems Administrator to support agency-wide IT services and participates in help desk operations, change management, and general IT operations.

Work is performed with limited supervision and requires independent judgment, technical proficiency, and strong organizational skills.

Essential Functions:

· Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and related cloud workloads.

· Manage cloud-based identity and access systems, including Entra ID, conditional access policies, and role-based permissions.

· Monitor and maintain cloud systems for performance, availability, security configuration, and licensing compliance.

· Participate in planning and executing cloud migration initiatives in coordination with the Systems Administrator and IT leadership.

· Provide support for cloud-related incidents and service requests.

· Support the technical safeguards required under HIPAA and other applicable regulations by implementing, maintaining, and documenting security controls within assigned systems, and collaborating with IT leadership during audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.

· Assist with administration and operational support of agency infrastructure systems, including but not limited to network-connected devices, wireless access points, and security camera systems.

· Support the agency’s video surveillance and related systems, including basic configuration, troubleshooting, device replacement, and coordination of service when necessary.

· Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of infrastructure components at agency locations as operational needs require.

· Monitor and triage help desk requests in coordination with IT staff.

· Maintain accurate and current documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and architecture.

· Cross-train with the Systems Administrator to ensure operational continuity during absences.

· Coordinate with vendors and service providers as required.

· Participate in continuing professional education to remain current with relevant technologies, security practices, and industry trends.

· Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and security requirements.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Knowledge:

· Principles and practices of cloud computing and Microsoft 365 administration Identity and access management concepts

· Knowledge of HIPAA technical safeguard requirements and general healthcare information security principles

· Security best practices

· Backup and data protection concepts

· General networking and systems administration fundamentals

Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 and related cloud platforms

· Ability to manage identity and access controls across cloud and hybrid environments

· Ability to implement and maintain security controls in alignment with HIPAA technical safeguard requirements and organizational security policies

· Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure systems, including network-connected devices and video surveillance systems

· Ability to analyze system performance and resolve technical issues effectively

· Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical users

· Ability to prioritize workload, manage competing demands, and respond to operational needs

· Ability to work independently with sound technical judgment in a small IT department

· Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow established procedures

Experience and Education:

· Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft 365 or comparable cloud environments

· Experience administering healthcare or other regulated environment subject to HIPAA requirements preferred

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or

related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
