Systems Administrator

Position Overview
The Systems Administrator will build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Windows-based systems and server environment, including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows servers, managing Active Directory, and ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
**Cloud & Directory Services**
- Administer Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Entra/Azure AD)
- Manage user accounts and permissions in third-party software aligned with company security policies
**Server & Infrastructure Management**
- - Administer physical and virtual servers (on-premise and cloud-based)
- - Manage and maintain VMware infrastructure and vCenter
- - Support and maintain SQL servers
- - Manage and maintain NetApp storage
- - Troubleshoot and patch Windows, Linux, and Unix servers
- - Oversee scheduled backups and ensure business continuity
**Networking & Telephony**
- - Maintain network infrastructure (Cisco and Meraki devices)
- - Administer 8x8 VOIP system, including users and call queues
**Security & Compliance**
- - Manage security environment in CrowdStrike
- - Assist with building and improving Intune MDM environment (Windows, Apple, Android)
- - Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies and procedures
- - Assist with SOC audit reporting
**Disaster Recovery & Backup**
- - Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery plans
- - Implement redundancy measures
- - Administer current backup solutions
**General IT Operations**
- - Troubleshoot network and system issues
- - Conduct regular system audits
- - Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
- - Provide emergency response and off-hours scheduled maintenance
- - Aid with helpdesk support tickets and user escalations
- - Generate thorough documentation of solutions and system operations processes
- - Work with vendor representatives on root cause analysis
- - Recommend new equipment, software, and solutions to meet business needs
Required Technical Skills & Experience
**Enterprise Systems**
- - Strong Microsoft 365 and Azure AD (Entra) administration
- - Experience with Microsoft Server 2008–2022 and Windows 11
- - Linux/Unix server environments
- - IBM AIX technologies
**Virtualization & Storage**
- - VMware hypervisors and vCenter management
- - NetApp SAN and storage administration
- - Druva backup solution
**Networking**
- - LAN/WAN technologies
- - Cisco and Meraki device configuration
- - VPN and network security
**Cloud & Backup**
- - AWS cloud server management
- - Veeam backup and disaster recovery
**Security & Monitoring**
- - CrowdStrike, Abnormal, Wiz, and Cisco Umbrella
- - Mimecast email management tools
- - Keeper password management
- - Intune MDM configuration and support
- - Ninja RMM management
**Additional Technologies**
- - SQL database administration
- - 8x8 VOIP services
- - Infor SXE and CSD systems
- - PowerShell scripting and automation
Professional Skills
- - Minimum 5+ years help desk/Systems Administration experience
- - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- - Self-starter with high motivation and independence
- - Comfortable in fast-paced environments with ability to prioritize
- - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- - Ability to work under pressure
- - Solid knowledge of IT security best practices
- - Bachelor's degree in technology-related field (preferred)
Position Details
Location: Lansing, IL (In-office)
Employment Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Schedule:
- Rotating Sundays for server patching
- Shift-based on business needs
- On-call for emergencies
Salary
$75,000 - $95,000
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
