Job Summary: Kao Institute's Creative Content department is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Generative AI Specialist to pioneer the use of cutting-edge AI technologies for both creative media production and in-depth medical research. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AI-driven video/photo generation, voice cloning, and custom avatar creation, coupled with the ability to apply AI methodologies to complex research challenges within the medical field. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of creative AI and scientific discovery, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
● Utilize state-of-the-art AI tools and platforms (including but not limited to those listed under Qualifications) to generate compelling and high-quality video and photo content.
● Lead and execute projects involving sophisticated voice cloning and the creation/implementation of custom digital avatars or clones, ensuring ethical standards are met.
● Collaborate with research teams to apply AI techniques (e.g., machine learning, data analysis, pattern recognition) using relevant libraries and frameworks to support and enhance in-depth medical research projects.
● Stay on top of the latest advancements in generative AI (image, video, audio, text), voice synthesis, digital human technology, and their applications in creative and research contexts.
● Evaluate, recommend, and implement new AI tools (like those mentioned below) and workflows to improve content creation and research capabilities.
● Ensure ethical considerations and data privacy standards are upheld in all AI applications, particularly concerning medical data and digital likeness.
● Work closely with creative producers to integrate AI solutions effectively.
Required Qualifications:
● Proven expertise in AI content creation, demonstrating proficiency in generating high-quality video and photo assets using a range of AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL-E 3 for images; Runway, Pika Labs for video). Familiarity with underlying models (GANs, Diffusion Models, Transformers) is expected.
● Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience with leading voice cloning and synthesis platforms (e.g., ElevenLabs, Resemble AI), including a strong understanding of ethical considerations and consent management.
● Demonstrable experience in creating and/or utilizing custom digital avatars/clones using platforms such as Synthesia, HeyGen, D-ID, or similar technologies.
● Strong ability to apply AI/machine learning concepts to research problems, particularly within a scientific or medical context. Proficiency in Python and core AI/ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch or TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy) is essential.
● A strong understanding of the rapidly evolving generative AI landscape and a passion for exploring new tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience applying NLP (Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy) or Computer Vision (OpenCV, MONAI) libraries to research datasets.
● Portfolio showcasing relevant AI generation projects (creative and/or research-applied).
● Knowledge of medical terminology or specific research areas relevant to Kao Institute.
● Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
● Experience with 3D modeling/animation software (e.g., Blender, Unreal Engine) in the context of avatar creation.
