Summary

We are migrating the existing application component by component. The job will center around recreating forms and reports in VB.NET while updating the coding to modern standards and implementing feature additions and modifications. Additional job roles include the creation of new forms and reports that don’t exist in the legacy application, as well as modifications to already migrated elements. Developers are also called upon to provide additional support to our customer service representatives as needed. The primary role of migration is expected to be a 3-5 year project, and we have a deep roadmap of additional development after that migration is finished.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of existing legacy VBA/MS Access Forms and Reports and migrating them to VB.NET Win Forms
• Maintaining, updating and expanding a DOTNET based title insurance production and settlement system used by title agencies in multiple states.
• System stack primarily comprised of Microsoft Access 2010, VBA, VB.NET, Win Forms, LINQ, MSSQL Server, DevExpress, Visual Studio, and Microsoft DevOps
• Performing software testing and stringent quality checks to ensure an error-free and functional final product to the user across multiple browsers
• Participate in requirements, design, and product discussions
• Interface with various internal groups including support, marketing, product, and senior leadership.
• Work with medium sized teams. Our current team size: 6 people in the development team on this product, another 8 people in support and other roles in this product, and we are part of a larger organization of more than 100 people most of whom work on separate products.
• Provide high level technical assistance to customer operations team members and clients as needed

Requirements

• In depth knowledge with VBA, VB.NET, LINQ
• Strong knowledge of database tables, queries, indexes, etc.
• Good knowledge of Windows Forms based programming
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills to rapidly determine root causes
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills relating to coding, development, and testing phases.
• Familiarity with source control, team-oriented development, and release deployment
• Flexible and effective in working closely with business stake holders in an agile-like work setting
• Interface with Business partners and customers if/as needed
• Ability to work from home
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Access Programming and DevExpress a plus
• Title industry and/or Title Software experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
