Sr. Systems Administrator
Pine View Buildings
Full-time

Job description
Senior Systems Administrator
Statesville, NC (100% on‑site, 5 days/week/PRN On-Call)
Starting at $95,000 up to $110,000 based on experience
At Pine View Buildings, we’re more than just a shed company — we’re a team of passionate individuals driven by craftsmanship, innovation, and integrity. Guided by the Golden Rule, we believe in treating others the way we want to be treated — with respect, honesty, and excellence.
Our outdoor storage buildings are built with premium materials and time-honored techniques, delivering unmatched value and quality.
We believe in strong work ethic and glorifying God in all that we do. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for The Lord, not for people." Colossians 3:23
About the Role
If you’re the kind of Systems Administrator who thrives when the pressure is on and loves being the backbone of a company’s operations—this is your job.
We’re a fast‑growing national building manufacturer with facilities across the Southeast and Texas. Our entire production, sales, and manufacturing operation runs on two mission‑critical ERP systems hosted onsite. When they stop, we stop.
You’re the person who makes sure that never happens.
Our Tech Environment
You’ll own and improve a highly diverse infrastructure that includes:
- Small but mighty Hyper‑V cluster (2 hosts)
- Mixed Linux + Windows server environment
- Microsoft 365 (Entra, Exchange, Intune)
- Zoom UCaaS
- MSSQL & PostgreSQL (with some MySQL in the mix)
- Linux/MySQL VPS for our website & ecommerce
- Unifi networking & access control
- Network‑connected manufacturing equipment
- CCTV systems
- Mixed macOS + Windows endpoints
- A fleet of iPads
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role. You will:
- Keep our ERPs online—downtime costs thousands per hour
- Manage and maintain Hyper‑V hosts, VMs, patching, and capacity planning
- Oversee all Microsoft 365 administration for ~65 users
- Deploy and configure new devices—PCs, iPads, and more
- Ensure our databases and servers stay healthy and backed up
- Maintain enterprise‑grade networking across multiple sites
- (VLANs, QoS, routing, troubleshooting—you should already know this cold)
- Support connectivity for specialized manufacturing machinery
- Troubleshoot remote site issues (occasional drives up to 3 hours)
- Collaborate with the CIO on infrastructure strategy and improvements
- Document everything you build—you’re part of a tight 3‑person IT team
- Function as the L2 escalation point for IT issues
- Oversee AV, backups, and cybersecurity implementation
- If it plugs in, boots up, or blinks—at some point you’ll probably touch it.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who has:
Must‑Haves
- 7+ years managing production‑level enterprise infrastructure
- Strong virtualization experience (Hyper‑V, VMware, Proxmox)
- Real‑world networking skills—rack‑and‑stack, VLANs, routing, packet captures
- Experience managing production ERPs where downtime = real financial impact
- Ability to be onsite in Statesville and within 30–45 minutes of the rack
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean background check & strong professional references
- Microsoft 365 admin experience (certifications preferred)
You Should Be Comfortable With
- Being the on‑call point person (rare emergencies, but they’re yours)
- Manufacturing environments—clean server rooms, loud production floors
- Working closely with the CIO while also operating independently
- Owning problems from chaos to completion
- Saying “I don’t know,” then figuring it out quickly and confidently
This Role Is NOT for You If…
- You rely on AI for basic troubleshooting
- Your experience is limited to small 10–20 user offices or MSP‑lite support
- You need hand-holding, step‑by‑step task lists, or heavy oversight
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- No corporate runaround — direct access to leadership, no endless committees
- Healthy budgets for hardware, tools, and sane infrastructure decisions
- A stable, respected company with 13+ years of growth
- Tangible impact — your systems power the machines that build real products
- A transparent, collaborative IT culture with zero politics
- 401K with up to 4% match
- Healthcare options or Stipend of up to $400 towards a plan outside of Pine View
- Vacation after 90 days, Additional vacation days for working on non-scheduled days
- 5 paid holidays
- Free Company Swag!
