Job Title: IT System Administrator I
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: IT Infrastructure Manager
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting with daily operations, system maintenance, troubleshooting of the computer systems, applications, and critical computer systems that are used to support business needs.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with software installations, troubleshooting basic software and hardware issues in Windows and Linux.
- Conduct new user orientations, onboarding of user accounts, software installations, and application setup for new users.
- Work with system administrators to ensure all systems and software are updated on a timely basis and patched on system cycle.
- Work with team to learn disaster recovery processes and systems and complete assigned responsibilities.
- Learn Windows and RedHat Patching routines to assist with patching and security updates.
- Learn VMWare hypervisor to assist with new server builds, and troubleshooting sever outages.
- Demonstrate analytical skills by digging into problems and developing resolutions with documented steps.
- Provide end-user support.
- Assist service desk members with tickets and triage events.
- Continue to maintain technology skills by seeking to continually improve skill sets, and learn new technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience: Three years of directly related experience.

- Ability to maintain a ticketing queue and update tickets with progress reports.
- Ability to work after hours at times to patch and update servers during non-production hours.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- RedHat Linux Enterprise experience
- Windows Active Directory and Server (2008 and later)
- VMWare Server Virtualization exposure
- SQL Server knowledge.
- Azure and Exchange experience
- Hardware and software experience
