Job description
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit union’s technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT operations, and digital services. This role ensures systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The IT Manager collaborates with vendors, core system providers, and internal departments to deliver reliable and innovative technology solutions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the credit union’s IT strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Maintain and support the credit union’s core processing systems, servers, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity programs.
- Ensure compliance with NCUA regulations, FFIEC guidelines, and industry cybersecurity best practices.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of IT projects, upgrades, and maintenance schedules.
- Provides direct assistance with user account management, including hands-on support for password resets and access issues setting up new computers.
- Manage IT vendors and service providers, including contract negotiations and service-level monitoring.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
- Must have financial or credit union IT experience.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and data integrity across all platforms.
- Ensure secure delivery of digital services (online banking, mobile apps, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of IT experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role, in a financial institution or credit union.
- Experience with core processing systems such as (Symitar, Fiserv, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, network management, and compliance standards (GLBA, NCUA, FFIEC).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, virtual servers, firewalls, and backup systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- CISSP, CISM, or other relevant IT/security certifications.
- Experience with cloud services and mobile/digital financial platforms.
- Knowledge of Iowa-specific data privacy or financial regulations.
