Job description
POSITION PURPOSE:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to oversee all aspects of IT operations, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure local to the US though in support of global directives and standards. This role includes database and network administration responsibilities while also providing IT support for the local site. Additionally, the IT Systems Administrator is an integral part of the global IT organization, working to drive standardization and global alignment across the company’s IT systems, policies, and best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Local IT Management & Support:
· Manage and maintain the local IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability and security.
· Maintains Department IT inventory system by keeping up-to-date and accurate records of serialized asset information.
· Provide technical support for employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
· Oversee IT service management, ensuring timely response and resolution of IT incidents.
· Develop, Implement, and enforce IT policies and best practices and procedures at the local site.
· Ensure data security, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
Database & Network Administration:
· Administer and maintain local databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.
· Servers: AD, file, application, network and telecom, Mailbox, VPN, business, and Windows applications
· Optimize database performance, perform upgrades, and ensure proper backup procedures.
· Manage and support local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN), including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs.
· Ensure network security by monitoring access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
· Collaborate with global IT teams to implement network and database standardization strategies.
Global IT Coordination & Standardization:
· Work closely with global IT leadership to align local IT strategies with corporate IT objectives.
· Support global IT projects, including system upgrades, cloud migrations, and cybersecurity initiatives while minimizing any negative risks to US operations.
· Ensure local IT operations comply with global IT policies, governance, and security standards.
· Contribute to global IT process improvement, driving consistency and efficiency across all sites.
· Participate in cross-functional IT initiatives to enhance collaboration and standardization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Strong experience with Windows/Linux servers, Microsoft Active Directory, and cloud services.
· Proficiency in database management (SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle).
· Hands-on experience with network administration, firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
· Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
· Ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues and implement effective solutions while following established standards.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with global teams.
· Experience in IT project management and process standardization.
· This position will include travel to other subsidiaries when needed.
· Knowledge of deployment of Microsoft systems and software: Server, Client, AD, WSUS, Office 365
· Relevant technical qualifications in Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
· 5+ years of IT management experience, including database and network administration.
Certifications:
· Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, ITIL, CISSP) are a plus.
· Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
· Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
· Previous experience in a global IT environment with multiple sites.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
