About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled User Experience (UX) Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting product innovation within Google Ads. This role blends deep technical expertise with strong design acumen to deliver scalable, high-quality user experiences.

As a UX Engineer, you will take full ownership of solution design and implementation—building complex UI components, advancing computational design systems, and enabling cross-functional teams to execute at scale. You will serve as a technical leader and trusted partner to engineers, designers, and product stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop tools and frameworks that enhance design and engineering efficiency.
• Prototype and evaluate new technologies, assessing feasibility and long-term sustainability.
• Lead the implementation and evolution of computational design systems and UI component libraries.
• Integrate user interface components into large-scale front-end systems.
• Act as a technical liaison between UX, engineering, and product teams.
• Drive technical discussions and facilitate consensus through documentation, specs, and design artifacts.
• Identify and proactively mitigate UX and technical risks.
• Lead project meetings and contribute strategic technical insights to influence product decisions.
• Implement and iterate on user experience solutions through high-quality code.
• Champion scalable and accessible design practices across product teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Programming and front-end development.
• Experience with Universally Accessible Design principles.
• Deep understanding of Product Design, User Behavior, and Systems Thinking.
• Expertise in Technical Prototyping and Exploration.
• Knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle.
• Ability to synthesize data and apply analytical insights to UX decisions.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product managers.
• Demonstrated situational leadership and ability to drive alignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google AI Studio (vibe coding platforms).
• Prototyping expertise using ProtoPie.
• Experience contributing to large-scale design systems or front-end rewrites.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $100.00 - $110.00 per hour
