Overview
Chemstream is looking to fill a Senior Network Administrator position to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment, MS 365 tenant, as well as excellent problem-solving skills to ensure smooth network operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer networks and on-premises servers
- Provide IT support duties as necessary, which may occur after normal working hours
- Install and integrate new server hardware, switches, and applications
- Administer Microsoft 365 tenant/Entra AD within a hybrid configuration
- Ensure network security and connectivity, including MFA methods (Duo, on-premises and cloud)
- VOIP phone system management
- Monitor and administer updates
- Support and administer third-party applications
- Monitor network performance
- Resolve problems reported by end user
- Define network policies and procedures
- Specify system requirements and design solutions
- Research and make recommendations on system administration
- Develop and maintain documentation and procedures
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend upgrades or changes as needed.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven experience (10+ years) in a network administrator role
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware and switches (Cisco/Ruckus)
- Server virtualization (VMware) experience required
- Experience with network storage management (NetApp), snapshot and replication (disaster recovery implementation)
- Experience in networking, routing and switching (layer 2 and 3)
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 / Entra AD cloud experience
- Enterprise class wireless networking environment (Ubiquiti, Ruckus Unleashed)
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of virtual infrastructure
- Experience with firewalls (SonicWall preferred), Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
- Software deployment experience
- Proficient at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking
- MCSA, Cisco, BCNE training a plus
- Network management experience using RMM (N-able, connectwise)
- Must be a team player with excellent work ethic and interpersonal communication/people skills
Work Environment
Most duties will be performed within our main office environment with the majority of time sitting at a computer. However, the IT department at Chemstream does have responsibility for a wide range of technological needs within the company and occasional travel to regional office/field locations could be necessary.
