Backend Developer / DevOps Engineer (Hybrid – Boston)

Overview Daedaline is looking for an experienced Backend Developer / DevOps Engineer who thrives in dynamic startup environments. You'll play a critical role in supporting and scaling our ML-driven due diligence platform focused on the energy sector. This position offers significant exposure to production deployments of Large Language Models (LLMs) and the latest AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• 
  Design, build, and manage infrastructure using Terraform to ensure reliable and scalable deployment

• Maintain and optimize databases including PostgreSQL, Redis, and vector stores to handle high-volume queries efficiently

• Implement effective monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure system reliability

• Deploy and manage ML model pipelines, with emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs) in a production environment

• Develop integrations and automation within AWS using Lambda functions, queues, and other AWS services

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including AI researchers, product managers, and frontend developers to streamline operations

• Proactively identify and execute optimizations to improve platform performance and reduce latency

Requirements

• 
  3 to 8 years of experience as a Backend Developer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role in a production environment

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (preferred)

• Proven experience managing infrastructure with Terraform

• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, and vector databases

• Deep expertise with AWS stack including Lambda functions, queues (SQS), EC2, ECS, and related services

• Demonstrable experience implementing robust monitoring, alerting, and observability strategies

• Comfortable making practical engineering trade-offs and rapidly prototyping solutions in a startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Prior exposure to deploying, optimizing, and maintaining Large Language Models (LLMs) or other production ML systems

• Startup experience with a focus on rapid iteration and deployment

• Familiarity with security best practices (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR compliance)
