Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to support and maintain our database environments. This role will be responsible for ensuring database performance, availability, security, and data integrity while working closely with application, infrastructure, and IT teams. The position requires on-site collaboration with flexibility for a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and support database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance and availability issues
- Perform routine backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company standards
- Optimize queries, indexes, and database structures to improve performance
- Support application teams with database design, migrations, and enhancements
- Manage database upgrades, patches, and version updates
- Implement and maintain high availability and failover solutions
- Document database configurations, processes, and procedures
- Provide on-call or after-hours support as needed
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or related role
- Hands-on experience with at least one major RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Strong SQL skills, including performance tuning and optimization
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies
- Understanding of database security and access controls
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting hybrid or on-prem environments
- Exposure to cloud-based databases (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)
- Experience with replication, clustering, or failover technologies
- Relevant database or cloud certifications
