Service 1 Federal Credit Union is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable IT Manager. The IT Manager will lead, manage, direct, and coordinate the planning, production, and activities of the credit union’s information technology department. Applicants should possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. Essential functions include:
- Oversee and direct the credit union’s Comprehensive Information Security Program, including the audit and assessment program, incident response, disaster recovery, and other necessary programs.
- Manage relationships and work closely with technology vendors, including the Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure the stability of Service 1 FCU’s information technology operations.
- Keep abreast of changing trends in technology to include hardware, networks and network tools, software, and systems. Ensure that the credit union’s information technology structure and equipment is adequate to meet member needs and strategic plan.
- Work with the Executive Management Team in setting short‐ and long‐term technology plans that promote credit union growth and enhance services to members.
- Lead any direct reports, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management to ensure the department’s success.
- Develop, apply, evaluate, enforce, and update necessary policies and procedures to maintain data security and compliance with applicable standards and Federal and State regulations.
- Create, review and maintain IT related reports and tasks. Execute action plans for any necessary items.
- Provide IT related education and training to team members to ensure the understanding of company policies regarding cybersecurity and proper technology use.
- Lead the Information Technology Steering Committee. Identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in service or products. Keep team members up to date on trends and general credit union information.
- Evaluate/implement new systems, applications, networks, or other technology tools that support credit union growth, enhance services to members, add value to the credit union, and provide efficient processes for team members. Plan and manage projects based on management’s requirements, priorities, and cost constraints.
- Oversee and manage all phases of systems design, networking, and installation/operation of IT software.
- Direct the upgrade and maintenance of all computer hardware, software, systems tools, and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and other external devices for business continuity purposes.
- Prepare, implement, and supervise the budget for the department that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit union.
- Work with the CFO to negotiate cost‐effective contracts for the purchase of hardware, software, service warranties, maintenance programs, or IT consultants to support the credit union’s technology infrastructure. Determine when it is cost‐effective to outsource technology services.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of IT examinations (i.e., regulators) and IT Audit-Assessments (i.e., independent auditors).
- Perform other duties as needed.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or Business Administration (preferred)
- IT related certification required (e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, etc.)
- IT experience in a financial institution (preferred)
- 3+ years of leadership experience (preferred)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft products: Windows (networking, servers, and workstations), 365, Azure, and Fortinet products: FortiGate, SD-WAN, WiFi, etc.
