Symmetry Lending is seeking an Application Support Developer – Full Stack, ETL & Reporting to support and maintain internal and third-party business applications across the enterprise. This is a production support-focused role responsible for resolving incidents, developing small enhancements, and maintaining application stability. The ideal candidate will possess strong full-stack development skills, robust experience with ETL (SSIS), and the ability to deliver and troubleshoot reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI.

This role requires someone who can handle a high volume of support tickets and minor development requests across multiple systems and business functions. You will participate in an on-call rotation, work closely with business stakeholders, and ensure timely resolution of application and data issues. The role also includes supporting agile development initiatives and collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality, supportable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, test, develop, and maintain best-in-class software solutions in support of internal and third party business applications.
  • Take ownership of full-stack development efforts, ensuring solutions are reliable, maintainable, and production-ready.
  • Support production systems by diagnosing and resolving incidents, applying permanent fixes, and contributing to system stability.
  • Collaborate across teams and business units to prioritize and deliver bug fixes, enhancements, and support requests.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and work as part of a cross-functional Agile team delivering iterative improvements.
  • Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to development standards.
  • Implement scalable, reliable, and high-performing designs that meet business and technical needs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on application failures and production issues, recommending long-term resolutions and improvements.
  • Document technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and support procedures to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity.
  • Deliver and support ETL solutions using SSIS and related Microsoft SQL technologies.
  • Develop, support, and troubleshoot SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards.
  • Maintain and enhance existing web-based user interfaces and backend processes in .NET/C#.
  • Utilize AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Fargate, and Docker to support and modernize application infrastructure.
  • Integrate telemetry to monitor and improve application performance and proactively identify bottlenecks.
  • Adhere to SDLC, compliance, and security standards throughout development and support activities.
  • Embrace a “you build it, you own it” mindset, taking accountability for the reliability and performance of supported applications.
  • Support non-functional requirements including security, telemetry, logging, and alerting.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely response to critical production issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data by following company policies and security best practices.
  • Contribute to a culture of reliability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on SQL, ETL (SSIS), and .NET (C#) technologies.
  • Proven experience designing and developing full-stack applications using ASP.NET Core, C#, MVC, Entity Framework, and LINQ.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and experience with Angular, Razor Pages, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions across SQL
  • Server and other platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SSIS for ETL development and data integration.
  • Preferred: Experience with Microsoft BI Suite tools such as Power BI, Power Query, PowerPivot, SSRS, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio) and other ETL platforms (e.g., AWS Glue).
  • Experience writing unit tests to validate software functionality and maintain code quality.
  • Familiarity with API development and architectural styles including REST and RPC.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working on cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Highly collaborative, self-motivated, and team-oriented with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accounting or Finance background (2–3 years) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas; VBA experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated passion for technology and commitment to delivering high-impact, reliable business solutions.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements with flexibility and resilience.
