AWS/Linux Systems Administrator (Part Time, Remote)

Smith & Carson is hiring a part-time AWS/Linux Systems Administrator to manage and optimize cloud and server infrastructure in a small business environment. This is a fully remote, part time role with variable hours.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for managing AWS infrastructure, administering Linux servers, maintaining network configuration, and implementing system improvements. Your work ensures the reliability, security, and performance of our technical foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, IAM, etc.)

• Perform Linux server administration and maintenance

• Apply system updates, security patches, and backups

• Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues

• Monitor and improve system performance and reliability

• Document configurations, policies, and procedures

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience

• Strong experience administering Linux servers

• Solid understanding of networking and system security

• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and highly reliable

Nice to Have:

• Background in web development or hosted environments (helpful but not required)

Schedule:

• ~10 hours per week

• Flexible scheduling — evenings or off-hours are welcome

• Fully remote
