Job description
Notary Jane is a leading online mobile notary directory that connects clients with experienced and professional notaries across the nation. By providing valuable resources and tools, Notary Jane empowers notaries to enhance their visibility and succeed in their professional endeavors.
We are looking for a full stack developer on a part-time contract basis to help us maintain our systems, optimize UI/UX, build additional features as needed, and help make Notary Jane the best that it can be.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough unit testing and quality assurance to ensure application stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Build clean, maintainable, and efficient code with a focus on scalability and performance.
- Assist with optimizing WordPress updates.
- Develop and maintain APIs to integrate with various systems.
- Feature improvements and application builds as needed and agreed upon.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of development experience.
- Strong documentation and technical communication abilities.
- Passion for performance optimization, code reusability, and best practices.
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in WordPress and PHP
- Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
- Strong understanding of database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Proficiency with front-end frameworks (React.js, Next.js) and templating engines (EJS).
- Proficiency with API integration, its security, and best practices.
- Familiarity with integrated billing systems with processors like Stripe.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Design sensibility and UX/UI knowledge, with familiarity with industry standard best practices.
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals.
- Familiarity with cookies, data tracking, and the legal responsibilities surrounding them.
Contract Details
- Fully remote within the US.
- Contract duration: 6 months – 1 year, with evaluation at 1 month and hopeful renewal each year.
- Work schedule: Anticipated average of 1-3 hrs per week with spikes of 10-15+ hrs per week during agreed upon build outs.
- Compensation Range: $40/hr - $60/hr depending on skill and experience.
