Full-Stack Developer (Contract/Freelance)

About the Company

Michael R. Arrache CPA Inc. is a professional accounting firm dedicated to empowering small businesses. We're launching an innovative new product, SummaStat, an AI-powered system designed to solve the common problem of disorganized financial records, often called "shoebox accounting." This software will automate the entire process of transforming unstructured data into a clean, tax-ready general ledger, saving small business owners and CPAs significant time and money.

This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a product from scratch, working directly with the founder to create a powerful tool that will disrupt a traditional industry.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and proactive full-stack developer to build the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of our software, SummaStat. This is a contract position with a clear scope and a payment schedule based on key project milestones.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing the software's architecture and database schema.
• Developing the user-facing web application for document upload and data visualization.
• Integrating AI/ML tools for data parsing, including OCR and NLP, to extract data from financial documents.
• Writing the core business logic to automatically categorize transactions and generate financial reports.
• Ensuring the security and scalability of the application.
• Collaborating directly with the founder to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in a modern full-stack environment (e.g., Python/Django or Node.js/React).
• Experience in AI/ML integration for data extraction and pattern recognition.
• A strong understanding of API development and database management.
• Experience building secure, scalable web applications.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Prior experience in the financial technology or accounting space is a plus, but not required.

Compensation: Competitive, project-based compensation.
