Job description

Responsibilities

Oracle

  • Administer Oracle Databases (19c+) across development, test, and production.
  • Deploy and manage Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) hardware/software, including patching (GI/RDBMS/OS/Firmware) and lifecycle management.
  • Plan and execute upgrades & patching for Data Guard, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and ODA platforms.
  • Monitor and tune performance using AWR/ASH/ADDM, SQL tuning, and OEM/Cloud Control.
  • Design and maintain backup & recovery with RMAN and ODA-native workflows; perform restore tests and validate RTO/RPO.
  • Implement high availability and DR using Data Guard (physical/logical standby); support ODA deployments.
  • Harden and secure databases—user/access management, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents across database, storage, Data Guard, ASM, and ODA hardware.
  • Automate operations via Bash/Python; maintain documentation.
  • Capacity planning & observability—forecast growth, optimize storage/I/O, and maintain dashboards/alerts.

Microsoft SQL Server

· Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (2016–2022+), SSMS, and SQL Agent.

· Design, execute, and monitor backup/restore strategies (full, differential, log); perform regular restore validation.

· Implement and maintain HA/DR (AlwaysOn Availability Groups, FCI, Log Shipping, Replication); conduct failover testing.

· Monitor and tune performance using DMVs, Query Store, execution plans, and Extended Events; resolve blocking/deadlocks.

· Implement index and statistics maintenance; manage database integrity (DBCC CHECKDB) and storage growth/capacity.

· Enforce security best practices: least-privilege access, role-based security, auditing, TDE, and credential governance.

· Create and maintain automation using T‑SQL and PowerShell; manage SQL Agent jobs, alerts, and operators.

· Support developers with query tuning, schema reviews, deployment scripts, and release management.

· Maintain documentation: standards, runbooks, diagrams, and environment inventories.

SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

· Install, configure, and administer SSRS (Native mode); manage Web Portal/Web Service URLs and encryption keys.

· Manage shared data sources/datasets, report folders, roles/permissions, and deployment pipelines across environments.

· Create and troubleshoot subscriptions (standard and data-driven) and monitor delivery (email/file shares).

· Optimize report performance (dataset/query tuning, caching/snapshots, rendering options).

· Oversee ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB health and maintenance; analyze SSRS logs and event logs.

Requirements

Required

  • 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience and one year of ODA experience with production support.
  • Strong proficiency with ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM/Cloud Control.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Linux (or RHEL) and shell scripting.
  • Solid SQL/PL‑SQL skills for diagnostics and optimization.
  • Proven track record with performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security controls.
  • 3–7+ years of experience administering SQL Server databases.

· Experience administering SSRS (security, data sources, deployments, subscriptions, performance).

Preferred

  • 2+ years working with Oracle Database Appliance (X7–X10 or similar), including:
  • ODA Bare Metal
  • odacli / odaadmcli
  • ODA patch bundles and image-based lifecycle management
  • ODA storage (ASM/ACFS), networking, and local/off‑box/cloud backups
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Oracle OCP/OCA; ODA Specialist is a plus.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
