Sr. Infrastructure Engineer

About:

A venture-backed startup is hiring its first backend engineer to help build the infrastructure powering an AI-native voice platform for professionals navigating complex information environments (think law, policy, compliance).

What You’ll Do:

• Own core backend systems that power our real-time voice agent platform
• Design and optimize distributed processing pipelines for AI workflows
• Implement cost-aware orchestration of internal and external AI services
• Scale infrastructure to support high-performance semantic search and streaming
• Build systems for fault tolerance, caching, and intelligent load balancing
• Collaborate cross-functionally on audio ingestion, real-time inference, and user-facing APIs

You Should Have:

• Strong proficiency in Python, plus experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
• Hands-on experience scaling distributed systems or real-time infrastructure
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in designing APIs, managing latency, and solving infrastructure bottlenecks
• Bonus: experience with voice processing, AI agent orchestration, or streaming architectures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
