Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. This role requires a strong understanding of various technologies, including Linux systems, PostgreSQL databases, and cloud services such as AWS. The Systems Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting our development operations (DevOps) and contributing to the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Configure and administer PostgreSQL databases, optimizing for speed and reliability.
  • Implement Shell Scripting to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Oversee the configuration of RAID controllers for data redundancy and performance.
  • Manage DHCP services to ensure proper IP address allocation within the network.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support DevOps practices and streamline deployment processes.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary upgrades or patches.
  • Ensure data security through regular backups, updates, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role in IT support.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and server management.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL database administration is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Shell Scripting for automation purposes.
  • Understanding of RAID controller configurations and management.
  • Knowledge of DHCP services and network management principles.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and the software development life cycle (SDLC) is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Work Location: Remote
