Job description

Position Summary: As a Systems Administrator your focus will be to ensure the stability, security, and reliability of all servers, systems, and network infrastructure, as well as assisting with the development and implementation of various IT projects, while aligning IT strategies with the goals of our financial institution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Information Technology Performance (75%):

  • Provide support to CFCU employees in the use and operations of company systems & applications.
  • Provide response and resolution to assigned Help Desk tickets.
  • Deployment and troubleshooting of System Servers and Banking Applications.
  • Identify and mitigate potential threats to the security or operation of systems and data.
  • Ensure the stability, security, and reliability of all servers, and systems.
  • Perform system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of server’s hardware and software.
  • Implement and manage a data backup and recovery plan in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, policies, and procedures, as well as perform common scheduled tasks.
  • Work directly with application vendors in support of credit union applications.
  • Maintain Change Control documentation of server and application changes.
  • Assist with the completion of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks.
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory lists.
  • Monitor and investigate system health alerts.
  • Identify and protect sensitive data.
  • Assist in completing user setup requests for network and applications access.
  • Work closely with Information Security Team which may include conducting audits, scans, and assessments of the systems and network infrastructure to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities and compliance risks, while proposing controls for mitigating risks to services or data.
  • Possess the ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others including vendors.
  • Provide tier 2+ knowledgeable support and guidance to end-users.
  • Ability to make decisions independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • A California Driver’s License with reliable transportation.

Collaboration (15%):

  • Collaborates with other CFCU departments on their technical related projects and needs.
  • Collaborates with fellow IT department colleagues in completing goals and tasks.
  • Attend regular departmental and company-wide meetings.

Compliance (10%):

  • Demonstrates an understanding of and follows established policies, practices, trainings, and regulations. The ability to observe and report areas of non-compliance.

Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Education:

  • Technical Skills - The ability to apply technical knowledge to complete specialized and complex tasks within the organization.
  • Initiative/Time Management - The ability to perform job responsibilities independently and responsibly. The ability to proactively complete tasks, solve problems, improve processes, enhance products, and/or extend services within assigned range of authority. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effective use of time. The level of control/oversight of all assigned projects and responsibilities.
  • Analytical Skills - The ability to observe, evaluate, summarize, and apply meaningful data in the problem-solving process. The level of logical reasoning necessary to connect required actions to desired outcomes. The ability to forecast events based upon current situations. Demonstrated skill in generating alternative solutions to problems.
  • Attention to Detail - The level at which tasks are performed carefully, accurately, and in accordance with specific instructions with attention to follow through. Consistency of work quality and compliance with standards, requirements, and expectations. The tracking of service desk ticket status and the updating of IT documentation.

Education and Experience:

  • Relevant industry certifications and/or degrees
  • 5 years of experience in Systems Administration
  • Familiarity with backup, DR, and high-availability architectures.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments).
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
  • Experience in regulated environments (financial, healthcare, or government).

Physical Factors:

Sitting: frequent use of computer, mouse, and phone/headset while in a seated position.

Carrying: occasional need to carry up to 50 pounds.

Climbing: occasional need to climb ladders to access IT equipment.

kneeling/Crawling: occasional need to access appliances or cabling underneath desks.

Vision: on a computer majority of the day.

Driving: occasional need to drive to other CFCU locations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37.46 - $46.82 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

  • Dr, High-Availibility Architectures: 3 years (Required)
  • reguFinancial, healthcare, or government: 3 years (Required)
  • System Administrator: 5 years (Required)
  • Azure, AWS, or Hybrid Environment: 3 years (Required)
  • VMware, Hyper-V or Similar: 3 years (Required)
