Job description
SHOE SHOW, INC., the country’s largest privately held footwear retailer, in business 64 years with more than 1,000 stores in 47 states, is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. This position is available onsite at the corporate headquarters located in Concord, NC. Local candidates are encouraged to apply!
What you should know:
The Systems Administrator supports the technology tools used by company employees to complete their work. Their primary focus is to manage the systems “behind the scenes” that the clients connect to when doing their day-to-day tasks. The Systems Administrator will work on projects to design and test new systems that improve productivity and security, upgrades to the server infrastructure, and creation of documentation as needed to ensure that the support teams in the IT department end users have reference material for using the technology systems that are implemented.
Environment is primarily Windows-server based (versions 2012 R2 through 2022) supporting Windows 10 and 11 clients in an Active Directory Domain using Microsoft 365 productivity applications and Exchange Online for email.

What you will do:
- Provide administration of systems that are in production that users interact with such as Active Directory for user accounts, Exchange Online for mailboxes, other Microsoft 365 services we are licensed for such as Defender and Intune, Freshservice IT ticketing system, etc.
- Manage and maintain physical and virtual servers that run the systems used by the business.
- Understand networking concepts necessary for configuring server infrastructure to communicate properly across the corporate network.
- Assist the team with long-term plans to transition more of our infrastructure away from hosting on-premises and hosted in the cloud (primarily in Azure) instead.
- Be comfortable with management and configuration of Microsoft systems through PowerShell.
- Research new software or technology tools requested by IT management or users as needed.
- Collaborate on the creation and writing of policies & procedures, end-user documentation, installation instructions, system design documents, test plans, and other relevant documentation for the systems in use.
- Understand Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and security best practices in Microsoft 365 and implement and manage security measures to protect sensitive information.
- Maintain compliance with PCI DSS standards and remediate issues found during PCI audits as needed.
- Assist with vulnerability management and drive information security processes relating to infrastructure security, regulatory compliance, and audits.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Education and Certifications desired:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- CompTIA Security+
- Relevant Microsoft certifications include, but are not limited to:
-Security Operations Analyst Associate
-Identity and Access Administrator Associate
-Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
-Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate
-Messaging Administrator Associate
