Job Overview

As a Network Engineer at Sovato, you will be the backbone of a platform where "uptime" isn't just a metric—it’s a clinical requirement. You will test, document, deploy, and maintain the critical infrastructure that connects surgeons to operating rooms. This role is a blend of greenfield architecture, hands-on deployment, and Tier 2/3 escalation support.

Primary Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Deployment: Build and scale our network and datacenter footprint, including switches, firewalls, and routers.
• Customer Connectivity: Design and maintain secure, high-performance links between Sovato and customer healthcare facilities.
• Network R&D: Research and rigorously test new network solutions to ensure they meet the latency and reliability standards required for remote surgery.
• Monitoring & Security: Proactively manage network health and security using advanced monitoring tools to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Automation & Documentation: Author detailed technical documentation and leverage "Infrastructure as Code" to streamline deployments.
• Escalation Support: Serve as a subject matter expert for Tier 2/3 network operations and troubleshooting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in large enterprise or carrier-grade networks.
• To be considered for the Senior level, 3+ years in a Senior or Architect-level role is required.
• Routing & Switching: Deep expertise in WAN routing (BGP, OSPF) and Fabric technologies (VxLAN, MPLS/EPLS).
• Cloud Networking: Proficient in AWS Cloud networking (Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, Terraform, and virtual appliances).
• Technical Stack:
• Hardware: Fortinet (FortiGate, SDWAN), Arista, and Juniper.
• Virtualization: VMware vSphere and Linux environments.
• Automation: Scripting experience with Python or Ansible.
• Fundamentals: Mastery of TCP/IP and OSI Layers 1–7.
• Bonus Points: Experience with Kubernetes (container networking).
• Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and international) to support deployments.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
