Job description
Amentum is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to support our federal program at Ft Meade, MD.
For the recently awardedNew Task Order, we have assembled a team of highly skilled network, systems, and unified communications engineers as well as specialists in configuration management, procurement, and information assurance. This team will be responsible for the rapid development, testing, validation, deployment, and integration of a pilot capability providing voice and video services. This modern multi-level secure conferencing capability will provide voice, video, chat, and presentation across multiple networks and security domains (e.g., NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify appropriate solutions based on system requirements
- Contribute to system design, development, and engineering tasks
- Manage and track workload during Agile sprints using JIRA and Confluence tools
- Produce system architecture design documentation and contribute to integration planning
- Deploy enterprise-level virtual environment software and management suites (ESXi and Nutanix hypervisors)
- Assist with the design and implementation of system network configurations with an overall goal of highly adaptable, scalable, and resilient services in a global system deployment
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Deliver and integrate new technical solutions and provide advice and recommendations to government customers
- Perform system and software updates to enhance performance
- Develop and implement solutions across a wide range of technologies
- Implement and maintain Government standards for system security
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Requirements:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI
- High School Diploma plus 7 years of related experience in Systems Engineering
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II or IAM-I baseline certification requirements such as Security+ or equivalentExperience with Windows Server 2022, 2025, Citrix XenDesktop, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, SAN, VCP 7.X. & 8.X, Nutanix AHV and Prism
- Experience with designing and implementing Cisco UCS Computing Servers, Hyperflex Servers design
- Experience working in a DoD classified environment
- Demonstrated experience in security requirements associated with DoD enterprise systems
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and RMF processes
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint
Preferred:
- BS in Computer Science or related technical degree
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and JIRA/Confluence tools
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community systems.
- VMware certification VCP 7.x/8.x
- Experience with Infoblox
- Experience with Nutanix
- Experience with Commvault 11.x
- Experience with System Center Configuration Manager 2012 or higher
- Experience with Windows Server 2025, SQL 2016, SharePoint 2016, and other related technologies
- Experience with ACAS, Trellix endpoint security, and MECM
- Familiarity with ITILv4
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2016
- Experience developing IT checklists, SOPs, guides, etc.

Pay: $160,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
