Job description

JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems and integrations. They are expected to have extensive knowledge of software engineering principles and practices and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. In this role, they will provide technical guidance and collaborate with other departments to ensure that software projects are completed on time and within budget. The Software Engineer must have a strong understanding of Agile methodology using the Scrum framework. They must possess excellent communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop high-quality software applications using a variety of programming languages and technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design and implement scalable solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Continuously learn and stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle, software design patterns, and software architecture principles
  • Strong knowledge of .NET development - C# & .NET Frameworks
  • Experience with development tools, such as Git, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio / VS Code and NuGet
  • Experience with Azure cloud services, including Functions, Web Apps, SQL, Cosmos DB, API Management, Event Grid, Service Bus, and Application Insights
  • Experience with Web related technologies, including Javascript, HTML, CSS, Typescript, React, Swagger, WebAPI and EDI
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
