Proactive Logic Consulting Inc

Job description
**Who We Are**
Proactive Logic Consulting INC is a boutique technology consulting firm specializing in:
- **Innovation, zero to one projects**
- **Assessments & Roadmaps**
- **Process Automation and AI**
- **Azure Cloud Migrations**
- **App Modernization** (including Low-Code solutions)
We bring together top-tier independent consultants—experts in their craft who thrive on flexibility and autonomy. Our consultants have a strong customer-obsessed mindset, high EQ, and deep technical skills. We're entrepreneurial at heart and fully support individuals who are simultaneously building their own product ventures.
**What We're Looking For**
We need an experienced **Senior Microsoft Fabric & Power BI Consultant** to lead the design and delivery of a modern data lake, data marts, and interactive reporting dashboards for a healthcare client. You'll reimagine legacy reports using modern tooling—not port them 1:1—and build self-service analytics that empower business stakeholders. This role is a corp-to-corp, 1099 engagement. If you combine deep Microsoft Fabric and Power BI expertise with AI-forward delivery practices, we'd love to talk.
**Key Requirements**
- **10+ Years in Data & Analytics**
- Designing data models, building data warehouses/lakehouses, and delivering enterprise reporting solutions.
- Strong data modeling expertise: star schema, dimensional modeling, semantic models, and medallion architecture (bronze-silver-gold).
- **Microsoft Fabric Expertise**
- End-to-end experience with Microsoft Fabric: OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Notebooks.
- Data engineering in Fabric: ingestion pipelines, data transformations, incremental refresh, and orchestration.
- Fabric capacity management, workspace governance, and security configuration.
- Experience migrating or building greenfield data platforms on Fabric.
- **Power BI Mastery**
- Advanced Power BI development: DAX, Power Query (M), composite models, DirectLake, and paginated reports.
- Dashboard and report design with a focus on usability, performance, and business value—not just aesthetics.
- Row-level security (RLS), deployment pipelines, and enterprise Power BI governance.
- Self-service analytics enablement: building datasets and reports that business users can explore independently.
- **Azure Data Platform**
- Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory.
- Azure DevOps/GitHub for CI/CD; IaC (Terraform/Bicep) is a plus.
- Observability: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights.
- **AI-Forward Analytics & Reporting**
- Daily practitioner with AI coding tools and agents: **Claude Code**, **OpenAI Codex CLI**, GitHub Copilot, Cursor (or similar).
- Prompt and instruction design; translate business goals into structured prompts, tools, and context.
- AI-assisted report development: using LLMs for DAX generation, data profiling, documentation, and semantic model optimization.
- Copilot for Power BI and Fabric: practical experience leveraging built-in AI features for report creation, Q&A, and data exploration.
- Safety/compliance: PII/PHI handling, data masking, redaction, guardrails, and HIPAA alignment in analytics environments.
- **Data Quality & Governance**
- Data quality frameworks: validation rules, profiling, anomaly detection.
- Data catalog and lineage: discoverability from source through lake to mart to report.
- Change Data Capture (CDC) concepts and integration with downstream reporting.
- **Healthcare Domain (Strongly Preferred)**
- Experience in healthcare, health insurance, pharmacy, or related industries.
- Understanding of HIPAA, PHI handling, and regulatory requirements in data and reporting environments.
- Familiarity with clinical, operational, financial, or sales reporting in a healthcare context.
- **Consulting & EQ**
- Excellent client-facing communication; ability to facilitate requirements workshops with business stakeholders.
- Translate complex data concepts into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Outcome-focused and pragmatic—deliver business value, not just technical artifacts.
- **Entrepreneurial Mindset**
- Think like an owner; innovate and deliver measurable value.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting coverage, and user adoption.
- **Business Structure**
- Must have an active **LLC or S-Corp**; **1099 Only** (Corp-to-Corp).
**What You'll Do**
- **Design & Model**: Architect data marts and semantic models for key analytical domains (sales, operations, clinical, financial) on Microsoft Fabric.
- **Build the Data Lake**: Implement data lake ingestion pipelines, transformations, and partitioning strategies using Fabric Lakehouses and OneLake.
- **Reimagine Reporting**: Redesign and rebuild legacy reports as modern, interactive Power BI dashboards—taking full advantage of the new data architecture.
- **Enable Self-Service**: Build curated datasets and reports that empower business users to explore data independently without developer support.
- **Ensure Quality & Governance**: Implement data quality validation, profiling, catalog, and lineage tracking across the analytics platform.
- **Deliver with AI**: Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, automate documentation, optimize DAX/queries, and enhance reporting workflows.
- **Client Engagement**: Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into data-driven solutions; present trade-offs and recommendations clearly.
**Preferred Tech & Tooling**
- Microsoft Fabric: OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Notebooks, Spark
- Power BI: DAX, Power Query (M), DirectLake, Composite Models, Paginated Reports, Deployment Pipelines, RLS
- Azure: ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, Key Vault, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics
- Data Modeling: Star schema, dimensional modeling, medallion architecture, semantic models
- Data Quality & Lineage: Profiling, validation frameworks, catalog tooling, CDC integration
- Synthetic Data: Experience generating non-PHI test data for development environments (a plus)
- AI/LLM platforms: Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic; Copilot for Power BI and Fabric
- Agentic tooling & IDEs: **Claude Code**, **OpenAI Codex CLI**, GitHub Copilot, Cursor (or similar)
**Why Join Proactive Logic Consulting?**

- **Top-Tier Peers**: Collaborate with senior experts across cloud, data, and AI.
- **Impactful Projects**: Healthcare data modernization with measurable business outcomes.
- **AI-Forward Culture**: Operate at the leading edge of AI-augmented analytics and reporting.
