IT Server Engineer
Location: Knoxville, TN
Schedule: Full-Time, Hybrid

We are seeking an IT Server Engineer to join our Infrastructure team! In this critical role, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure to support a complex, high-demand technology ecosystem. Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server 2016–2025, Linux).
• Perform system monitoring, apply patches, manage system backups, and conduct routine test restores.
• Administer and support a hybrid Active Directory environment (On-Prem and Azure AD).
• Provide support and troubleshooting for the Microsoft 365 environment.
• Manage and support virtualization platforms, including VMware and Citrix, as well as proprietary infrastructure systems.
• Monitor and maintain legacy Storage Area Networks (SANs), including iSCSI and Fiber Channel, along with VxRail and VCF private cloud infrastructure.
• Plan, build, and deploy new infrastructure solutions based on project requirements reviewed by a technical oversight committee.
• Ensure all project work, installations, and maintenance activities are clearly documented and follow change management processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and stable infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain adherence to ticketing systems and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong technical expertise in Windows/Linux server environments, VMware, Citrix, and storage technologies.
• Hands-on experience with hybrid identity and cloud infrastructure tools.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and propose multiple solution paths.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to documentation and process adherence.
• Effective communicator and team player, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience as a system/server administrator
• 4-6 years: Experience in Server management with Windows 2016 and up and Linux
• 3+ years: Experience with VMware/Virtualization
• 3+ years: Experience with Citrix administration
• 3+ years: Experience with PowerShell and automation tools
• Years of experience should be related to working experience

Preferred Skills:

• Citrix (Virtual Apps/Desktops)
• VxRail / VCF (private cloud infrastructure)
• Azure IaaS (VMs, virtual networks, storage)
• Backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)
• Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Familiarity with change management processes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
