At Webfitters, we’re a collaborative team of designers, developers, and problem-solvers building impactful digital products across a wide range of industries.

We’re looking for a full-time Senior PHP Developer with 4+ years of experience to help design, build, and maintain mission-critical websites and custom web applications. This role is primarily focused on custom PHP and Laravel development, with a smaller portion of time dedicated to WordPress development and ongoing support. You’ll work closely with the team while owning projects end-to-end, bringing a strong technical foundation and an analytical, curious mindset.

Strong experience with Laravel and PHP is required. Experience with WordPress and light Linux server administration is a plus.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Translating project requirements into clean, secure, and maintainable code, collaborating closely with Project Management and the broader development team
• Building and maintaining custom PHP and Laravel applications
• Collaborating with other developers to write simple, optimized, and scalable code
• Optimizing applications for performance, reliability, and scalability
• Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Supporting and maintaining legacy projects alongside new development
• Supporting WordPress projects, enhancements, and maintenance
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in code quality, performance, and development practices

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION

• Experience building secure, production-ready web applications
• Strong knowledge of PHP, Laravel, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• Experience working with WordPress, including custom theme and plugin development
• Experience writing custom plugins and modifying third-party plugins
• Ability to work with plugins related to User Roles/Permissions, Portals, Calendars, Resource Libraries, and eCommerce
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or similar
• Experience using version control systems such as Git
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines or communicate proactively when timelines shift
• Growth mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team

Pay: $25.10 - $50.00 per hour
