Job description
Company Overview

The organization supports multiple operating locations and legal entities and relies on a centralized ERP system to ensure financial accuracy, inventory integrity, and consistent operational processes across the enterprise.
Position Summary
The ERP & Accounting Systems Manager is responsible for the ownership, integrity, and ongoing optimization of Lundstrum Investments’ enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, with a primary focus on accounting accuracy, financial controls, and system configuration. This role serves as the bridge between accounting, operations, and technology to ensure the ERP system reliably supports financial reporting, inventory valuation, and operational workflows across multiple operating entities.
This is an accounting-centric, post-implementation role. The position emphasizes financial correctness, system governance, and process improvement rather than traditional IT infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
ERP & Financial Systems Ownership
- Serve as the primary internal owner and administrator of the ERP system (Datacor).
- Maintain and configure ERP modules impacting the general ledger, inventory, purchasing, production, AR/AP, and costing.
- Ensure ERP system behavior aligns with Lundstrum Investments’ accounting policies and GAAP requirements.
- Manage ERP upgrades, patches, testing, and user access controls.
- Act as the primary liaison with ERP vendors, consultants, and external support partners.
Accounting & Financial Integrity
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and all subledger integrations.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes across multiple entities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve posting issues, inventory variances, and reconciliation discrepancies.
- Partner with accounting leadership to improve close efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Support internal reviews and external audit requests related to system controls and financial data.
Inventory & Cost Accounting Support
- Oversee ERP setup and maintenance related to inventory valuation, costing methods, and item master data.
- Ensure accurate cost flow through purchasing, production, blending, and inventory transactions.
- Assist in resolving inventory-to-GL reconciliation issues.
- Support multi-location and intercompany inventory and accounting structures.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Evaluate and improve accounting and operational workflows within the ERP system.
- Reduce manual processes, journal entries, and spreadsheet dependencies.
- Develop, document, and maintain ERP-related accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Partner with operations leadership to ensure ERP processes support real-world workflows while maintaining financial discipline.
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial and operational reports within the ERP system.
- Ensure consistency and reliability of reporting across all operating companies.
- Support leadership with ad-hoc analysis, trend identification, and data validation.
- Improve management confidence in ERP-generated data for decision-making.
Training & Internal Support
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for ERP-related accounting functionality.
- Train accounting and operational users on ERP best practices.
- Provide first-line support for ERP questions related to accounting, finance, and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, chemical, or distribution environments.
- Hands-on experience working with an ERP system in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong understanding of:
- General ledger structure and controls

Preferred

- Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-location organizations.
- Prior involvement in ERP implementations, system upgrades, or major process redesigns.
- Working knowledge of ERP reporting tools and basic SQL or query-based reporting.
