As we look to sustain our success and expand our reach, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Scientist / Data Integration Engineer to continue developing our teams and expanding our capabilities.
Job Description: MSI is the leader in the Federal adoption of Emerging Technologies. Our engagements span the civilian and defense sectors and include developing some of the most impactful automations that have been deployed in the Federal Government. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Translate fragmented, opaque agency data into clean, consumable API outputs.
- Map source systems to canonical data models.
- Lead the design and development of API ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Resolve data quality issues and semantic inconsistencies.
- Build relationships with business & system stakeholders to drive solutions.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Bachelors, Masters, or PHD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Note: Experience in lieu of an advanced degree is acceptable.
- Certification in cloud technologies such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture principles, design, security, and cost optimization.
- Languages: SQL, Python, Spark, Airflow.
- Data modeling and architecture (canonical, normalization, star schema, etc.).
- API data contracts and schemas (JSON Schema).
- Legacy data system integration (Oracle, DB2, mainframes).
Bonus Experience:
- Prior GovCloud or on-prem federal data center experience.
- IRS data domain knowledge (IDRS, ECLAS, Taxpayer Systems, PPS, etc.).
