Full-Time

YSI is seeking a highly qualified Junior DevOps Engineer. The selected candidate will support the development, deployment, and operation of cloud-based applications and infrastructure. This role is ideal for candidates early in their DevOps career who have a strong foundation in Linux, AWS cloud platforms, and automation, and who are eager to learn modern DevOps tools and practices while working closely with development and operations teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.)
  • Assist with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and scripting (Bash, Python, AWS CLI)
  • Monitor systems using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and related tools
  • Support containerized applications using Docker and ECS/EKS/Kubernetes
  • Perform routine system maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials
  • Support compliance activities related to DoD financial systems (FIAR/FISCAM)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting AWS environments (Elastic Beanstalk a plus)
  • Strong Linux troubleshooting skills
  • Basic scripting experience (Bash, Python)
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools
  • Exposure to Docker and containerization
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal systems

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
