Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated AI Specialist to join our team and lead the research, development, and implementation of AI-powered tools and solutions tailored to our 3PL operations. This full time, in person role is ideal for a self-starter with deep expertise in artificial intelligence who can translate complex technical concepts into practical business improvements. You will collaborate closely with operations, IT, safety, continuous improvement, and other internal departments to identify opportunities and deploy AI initiatives that optimize performance across company operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Research emerging AI technologies, machine learning models, and industry-specific applications relevant to 3PL logistics (e.g., predictive demand forecasting, inventory management, warehouse automation, anomaly detection, customer service optimization, and real-time decision support).
- Design, develop, and prototype AI solutions
- Implement and integrate AI tools into existing systems (e.g., WMS, ERP) to improve key metrics like inventory accuracy, labor efficiency, error reduction, and overall operational performance.
- Analyze large datasets from logistics operations (historical trends, sensor data, warehouse metrics) to build predictive models and generate actionable insights.
- Flourish in partnering with the Safety department, operations team, IT, continuous improvement team, and all other internal departments to define requirements, pilot projects, measure ROI, ensure safe and compliant implementations, and scale successful solutions.
- Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve deployed AI models, including retraining for changing conditions and ensuring ethical, bias-free, and compliant usage.
- Stay current on AI advancements in supply chain and logistics; present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Document processes, models, and implementations for knowledge sharing and future reference.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- proven success in building and deploying production-grade models.
- Strong subject matter expertise in artificial intelligence, including machine learning, deep learning, predictive analytics, and generative AI where applicable.
- Experience or strong interest in logistics, supply chain, or 3PL environments (familiarity with concepts like demand forecasting, inventory optimization, or warehouse operations is a major plus).
- Proficiency in programming
- Excellent communication skills – able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
- Self-starter mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving initiatives from concept to implementation.
- Experience with cloud computing, data pipelines, APIs, or integration tools is advantageous.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of supply chain software (e.g., Manhattan Associates, Blue Yonder, SAP, Oracle, Korber, Infios) or other logistics data management platforms.
- Familiarity with optimization algorithms, time-series forecasting, computer vision (for warehouse automation), or NLP for document processing.
- Understanding of data privacy, security, ethical AI practices, and safety considerations in operational environments.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package (commensurate with experience).
- Opportunity to shape the future of our logistics operations through cutting-edge AI.
- Collaborative, innovative work environment with direct impact on business performance.
- Professional development support and exposure to the latest AI tools and trends.
- Full-time, in-person role with a supportive team in Milton, PA.
