The Opportunity: AI-Focused Software Manager
Are you a tech leader who loves building AI solutions from the ground up? As our AI-Focused Software Manager, you'll be at the heart of our product development, driving the creation of next-generation teleradiology software. Key Responsibilities
- Lead AI Development: Design, develop, and deploy machine learning algorithms (e.g. computer vision for medical images) to assist radiologists and improve diagnostic accuracy.
- Software Product Management: Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle of our teleradiology platform – from initial concept and prototyping to testing, deployment, and continuous iteration based on user feedback.
- Technical Team Leadership: Build and mentor a small engineering team (developers, ML engineers, etc.), fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and rapid iteration while providing hands-on technical guidance and code reviews.
- System Architecture & Integration: Architect scalable, secure systems that integrate seamlessly with hospital IT systems (PACS, RIS, EMR) and cloud infrastructure, ensuring our platform handles medical imaging data efficiently and securely (familiarity with DICOM and HL7 is a plus).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate clinical needs into technical solutions, acting as the bridge between the tech team and real-world users to ensure we build the right features.
- Continuous Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest AI and software development trends, evaluating new tools and techniques to drive continuous improvements and keep our technology on the cutting edge.
- Strategic Leadership: As part of the core team, contribute to high-level decisions and help shape our product roadmap and business strategy, ensuring our tech vision aligns with the company’s mission and market needs.
QualificationsRequired
- AI/ML Expertise: Strong experience developing and implementing AI or machine learning models (bonus for deep learning/computer vision, especially in imaging or healthcare).
- Software Development: Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, Java, or similar) and building full-stack applications. Solid understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and RESTful API development.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and deploying scalable services. Comfortable working with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Healthcare Integration: Basic knowledge of medical imaging technologies or standards (PACS, DICOM) and willingness to learn more. Ability to integrate software with third-party systems and databases.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead projects or teams. Excellent communication skills – you can articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and inspire your team to excel.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You take ownership, navigate ambiguity, and are driven to build something meaningful from scratch.
Preferred
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master’s/PhD in AI or Data Science a plus).
- Domain Experience: Experience in healthcare tech, radiology, or telemedicine. Familiarity with healthcare regulations (HIPAA) and data security best practices.
- PACS/Imaging Expertise: Direct experience with DICOM image processing, radiology workflows, or integrating with hospital RIS/EHR systems.
- Product Strategy: Experience in product management or defining software product roadmaps. Ability to balance technical priorities with user needs and business goals.
- Startup Experience: You've been an early employee or technical founder before, and you love the thrill (and challenges) of scaling a company.
- Big Picture Thinking: Strategic vision for how AI can redefine an industry, paired with the hands-on ability to execute that vision.
Compensation & Logistics
- Salary: $60,000 per year starting salary, with potential for growth as we scale.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
