We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Information Systems and Technology Director to lead the development and optimization of all technology solutions that support our firm's rapid growth and high volume casework. The Information and Technology Director will oversee the organization's technology infrastructure and systems, ensuring efficiency, security, and alignment with strategic goals. This role involves strategic planning, implementation, maintenance and support of IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Management & Innovation
- Oversee system administration, including server management and network security protocols.
- Lead cross-system integrations across legal, intake, client care, HR, and finance.
- Drive automation of legal workflows for declarations, form prep, and case assembly.
- Audit system usage, resolve inefficiencies, and improve adoption via data insights.
- Manage tech-related special projects (e.g., dashboards, office tech setup, phone systems).
- Lead software development initiatives and manage cloud computing projects.
- Ensure business continuity through effective change management and disaster recovery planning.
Data Security & Compliance
- Ensure all systems meet legal, regulatory, and ethical data handling standards.
- Lead efforts in cybersecurity policy, access controls, encryption, and response planning.
- Partner with HR and Compliance to align on data governance and audits.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for information systems and technology to enhance business operations.
Technology Strategy & Oversight
- Develop and lead a firm-wide technology roadmap aligned with growth goals.
- Optimize and manage core platforms, including Filevine, Lead Docket, Zapier, and cloud-based tools.
- Evaluate and select new tools to improve client experience and operational efficiency.
- Negotiate vendor contracts and manage all tech-related vendors.
Team Leadership & Change Management
- Hire, lead, and develop a small internal tech team or manage external IT consultants.
- Train and onboard staff on systems; develop SOPs and documentation.
- Champion user adoption through clear communication, coaching, and change leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Systems, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years in systems, IT, or operations leadership, ideally in legal, healthcare, or high-compliance sectors
- Expertise in legal technology platforms, especially Filevine.
- Proven experience in business continuity planning and cloud computing
- Strong knowledge of computer networking and system administration
- Proficiency in management and change management practices
- Expertise in firewall and server management
- Familiarity with software development and WAN technologies
- Experience with premium skills such as PCI, VPN, and Agile methodologies
- Strong project management and vendor negotiation skills
- Familiarity with automation platforms (Zapier, Make), cloud tools, and data analytics
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
